Bleach 'Wrath as a Lightning' Cover Explained: Manga Chapter Vs. Anime Episode 5
Q1: Is there an official Bleach manga volume titled "Wrath as a Lightning"?
No. The official volume collecting this segment is Volume 58, titled The Fire, which features Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto on the cover. "Wrath as a Lightning" is exclusively the title of Chapter 504 and TYBW Episode 5.
Q2: Which manga chapters correspond to TYBW Episode 5?
Episode 5 covers the events of Chapters 501 through 505. It details Byakuya Kuchiki’s defeat by As Nödt, the death of Chojiro Sasakibe being avenged, and Yamamoto’s arrival on the front line.
Q3: Why did Yamamoto refuse to dodge Sasakibe's stolen Bankai?
Yamamoto took the lightning head-on to honor his fallen lieutenant. By experiencing the attack directly, he proved that the Quincy could never wield Koko Gonryo Rikyu with the refinement, depth, and dignity that Sasakibe had honed over two thousand years.
