Eric Winter Filmography Check: Did the Rookie Star Secretly Appear in Mystic Falls?
Winter does have legitimate vampire-drama credentials, but they belong to CBS rather than The CW. In 2008, he joined the cast of Moonlight, the cult supernatural detective procedural starring Alex O'Loughlin as private investigator vampire Mick St. John.
Winter portrayed Benjamin Talbot, an ambitious Assistant District Attorney who unknowingly employed vampire investigator Beth Turner. His character operated as a grounded foil to the nocturnal underworld, bringing sharp legal pressure to supernatural crimes. Moonlight ran for a single 16-episode season before cancellation, concluding just 16 months before The Vampire Diaries made its network debut. Fans who watched both shows in real time often mapped Winter's sharp-suited presence opposite O'Loughlin directly onto early CW vampire lore.
