Everything to Know About Newjeans Haerin in 2024: Age, Career Milestones, and Profile
Every November, South Korea pauses for the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT), widely known as the *Suneung*. Flights are grounded during listening exams, stock markets open an hour late, and police cars escort delayed students through traffic jams. For active K-pop idols born in 2006, November 14, 2024 presented an unavoidable fork in the road: pursue university admissions or dedicate themselves entirely to performance schedules.
Haerin chose the latter. Official announcements confirmed that both Haerin and NMIXX member Kyujin would skip the exam, while peers such as actress Gal Sowon prepared to take their tests. The decision drew widespread respect across community forums like TheQoo and Weverse. Fans recognized the honesty behind the choice: juggling multi-city international promotions while pretending to pursue an academic degree often invites public skepticism.
Her educational trajectory had diverged from the conventional path years earlier. Haerin attended Kwiin Elementary School and Gwiin Middle School in Anyang before withdrawing to dedicate herself to rigorous training. She subsequently earned her middle and high school graduation equivalency certificates via national qualification examinations (GED). Passing those tests gave her legal high school graduate status without confining her to a rigid classroom schedule.
