How 'I Love You Guys We Are Tadc' Took over the Internet: Viral Timeline
The meme stems directly from internet parody traditions where fans deliberately mischaracterize a dark story with cheerful platitudes. In the actual narrative crafted by creator Gooseworx, the characters rarely find comfort in each other. Pomni deals with persistent panic attacks, Jax deflects suffering by tormenting his peers, and Ragatha strains under toxic positivity while slowly losing hope of escape. There is no triumphant camaraderie, and the characters never refer to themselves by the acronym "TADC."
Online creators seized on that dissonance. In late 2023, satirical audio clips began circulating on Discord and X (formerly Twitter). The joke relied on a classic cinematic trope: characters abruptly turning toward the camera, breaking character, and stating the title of the work as an emotional climax. Community voice actors imitated Jax or Pomni delivering the line with exaggerated sincerity, backgrounded by generic uplifting royalty-free strings. It offered instant comic relief against the show's dark themes of isolation and psychological collapse.
