How I Met Your Mother Cast Today: Josh Radnor Reflects on Ted and the Gang
Q1: Why does Josh Radnor say the cast isn't close anymore?
Radnor explained that following the show's 2014 conclusion, cast members naturally drifted apart as they pursued separate careers, lived in different cities, and prioritized their families. His comments reflect the normal conclusion of long-term workplace ties rather than personal animosity.
Q2: Will there ever be an official How I Met Your Mother cast reunion?
While individual actors have made cameo appearances, Cobie Smulders and Neil Patrick Harris both reprised their characters on Hulu's spin-off How I Met Your Father, there are no active plans for a full scripted reunion or unscripted special involving the five original leads.
Q3: Did the show ever release an official alternate ending?
Yes. In response to intense audience backlash after the March 2014 network broadcast, 20th Century Fox included an official alternate ending on the complete series DVD box set. This version removed Tracy's illness, kept Barney and Robin together, and concluded with Ted meeting Tracy on the train platform in Far Rockaway.
