How Slasher Claws Took over Baddies: from Surprise Leak to Server Hysteria
The core driver of the claws' dominance comes down to raw math and engine quirks. Standard heavy weapons in Baddies rely on high base impact tempered by long recovery windows. If you miss a swing with a spiked bat, your opponent has ample time to punish. Slasher Claws inverted that risk-reward formula entirely.
The weapon deals 18 damage per light slash, ramping up to a 34-damage finisher across its default four-hit string. While those raw numbers sit slightly below two-handed blunt weapons, the claws compensate with unmatched velocity. More critically, high-elo players uncovered an exploitable PvP attack animation cancel within hours of release. By feathering the block input immediately following the second light strike, attackers wipe their recovery frames, resetting the combo chain before the opponent's stun-recovery threshold kicks in.
The melee weapon hitbox range proved equally problematic. Despite displaying compact finger blades visually, the hurtbox extends roughly 1.5 studs beyond the model tips. The strike arc also lingers for an extra two active frames horizontally. Duelists attempting to space out claw users with longer weapons found themselves clipped out of dash animations by ghost hitboxes.
