Ikea Saltsjöbaden Sofa on Sale: Price Drops, Stock Updates, and Best Deals
Q1: Does the chaise section include internal under-seat storage?
A1: No. Unlike the Friheten or Finnala lines, the Saltsjöbaden leaves the base chassis open to accommodate full pocket-spring suspension across the entire chaise footprint, sacrificing storage volume in exchange for sitting comfort.
Q2: Can the chaise be converted to a standalone lounge chair?
A2: The chaise module requires direct attachment to the central two-seat structural frame to remain stable. Its inner lateral side lacks finished upholstery and external stabilizing legs, making standalone configuration impossible.
Q3: Are third-party replacement slipcovers compatible with this revived frame?
A3: Early-generation slipcovers from custom textile ateliers fit with minor tension around the front corners due to updated bracket sizing. For guaranteed fit, select covers tailored explicitly for the revived post-2024 frame schematics or purchase verified IKEA OEM textiles.
