The arrival of Aadiya and Krishna instantly brought back memories of 1991, when Nita Ambani gave birth to twins Isha and Akash Ambani. That historic birth marked the arrival of the second generation of modern Reliance leadership.
When Isha and Akash were born, Mukesh Ambani was flying over the Arabian Sea. Communication was relayed to the cockpit, informing him that he had fathered a boy and a girl. Inspired by the sky through the aircraft window and the timeless authority of divine rule, he chose "Akash" (sky) and "Isha" (protector or goddess). Growing up as a twin shaped Isha Ambani's world view; she repeatedly spoke in university panels and corporate summits about the tight bond she shared with Akash during their undergraduate years at Yale and Brown.
