Is Eunice Really Pregnant with Min Ho's Baby? Inside the Shocking Xo, Kitty Twist
The creative team behind the spin-off, rooted in Jenny Han’s wider To All the Boys universe, deliberately leaned into classic high school hyperbole. Speaking to digital outlets following the season's premiere, stars Anna Cathcart and Sang Heon Lee discussed the intense audience reaction to the misdirection.
Sang Heon Lee noted that Min Ho’s surface-level arrogance often makes him an easy target for outrageous campus assumptions. People assume the worst because he projects the image of an untouchable, reckless heir. Anna Cathcart pointed out that Kitty's matchmaking instincts, usually her greatest asset, become a liability when she jumps to conclusions without verifying facts. By having Kitty immediately believe that Min Ho could be a teenage father, the narrative highlighted her lingering skepticism toward him, despite their undeniable chemistry.
Teen drama series rely heavily on manufactured miscommunication, and this twist pushed that device to its outer limits. It served as a narrative barrier designed to stretch the romantic tension across additional story arcs rather than giving viewers a neat resolution.
