Is House of Bō Worth the Price Tag? an Honest Review of the Hype

Bernardo Möller established House of Bō in late 2021 as an homage to his upbringing in Mexico and his father's spiritual approach to scent. Rather than framing the collection around traditional European floral traditions, Möller anchored the brand in raw, elemental profiles: wet stone, crushed agave, copal resin, and coastal air. Crucially, the entire collection launched as genderless luxury perfumes, ignoring the arbitrary pink-and-blue divisions that defined 20th-century perfumery.

The visual presentation established an immediate aesthetic signature. Möller partnered with Mexican stone-carvers to manufacture sculptural, monolithic caps from natural materials like travertine, volcanic rock, and white marble. These caps are not mass-molded plastic coated in resin; they are cold, porous, and distinct from one another. Each cap weighs roughly the same as the glass flacon beneath it, instantly signaling prestige the moment it leaves the box. Yet this aesthetic weight carries practical implications. If a consumer pays $290 for an eau de parfum, how much of that capital pays for the juice inside versus the decorative stone perched on top?
