Is Planet Fitness Really Open on Easter? Why 24/7 Access Might Let You Down
Holiday operations across Planet Fitness vary substantially depending on whether the date represents a retail shopping event, a federal civic observance, or a traditional family holiday.
| Holiday Observance | Typical Operating Window | Staffed Front Desk Status | Operational Consistency |
|---|---|---|---|
| Easter Sunday | Closed or 7:00 AM, 1:00 PM | Reduced staff shifts | Highly variable by franchise |
| Easter Monday | Standard operating hours (Full 24/7 where applicable) | Fully staffed | Standard across network |
| Memorial Day | Modified hours (Closes 1:00 PM, 4:00 PM) | Skeleton staff | Moderate corporate guidance |
| Fourth of July | Open early, early evening closure (Closes ~2:00 PM) | Reduced shifts | Predictable nationwide |
| Thanksgiving Day | Early morning only (Closes ~12:00 PM) | Minimal front desk staff | Widespread morning-only pattern |
| Christmas Day | 100% Closed system-wide | Unstaffed / Completely locked | Universal closure |
As the operational grid shows, Easter Sunday falls into an unpredictable middle zone. Unlike Christmas Day, which is a universal system-wide closure, Easter leaves members guessing unless they take proactive steps to confirm specific regional arrangements.
