Louise Annette Talley Dixon Timeline: from Terrell, Texas to Foxx's Mansion
In April 2023, Foxx suffered a life-threatening medical complication in Atlanta while filming the action comedy Back in Action. The incident led to weeks of intensive care, physical rehabilitation in Chicago, and complete seclusion from the Hollywood spotlight. Throughout that uncertain period, the inner circle protecting his privacy was led by his daughter Corinne Foxx, his sister Deidra Dixon, and Louise.
The crisis showed how far the family dynamic had evolved. Louise was no longer the distant figure from East Texas; she was a core matriarch in the private circle nursing Foxx back to health. When Foxx returned to the stage in late 2024 for his one-man Netflix special, What Had Happened Was, he addressed the fragile nature of life, mortality, and the irreplaceable value of having his family under one roof during his recovery.
