Tested and Verified: the Undefeated 6-Pokémon Roster for Pokémon Firered
Reaching the Indigo Plateau brings you face-to-face with the region's sharpest difficulty spike. The Elite Four counters built into this roster neutralize every room cleanly, preventing costly revives and white-outs.
- Lorelei (Ice): Lead with Jolteon. Thunderbolt sweeps Dewgong, Cloyster, Slowbro, and Lapras. Rotate Nidoking with Rock Slide or Snorlax with Brick Break to clean up Jynx.
- Bruno (Fighting/Rock): Alakazam Psychic special attacker dominance dismantles Bruno’s roster in five turns. Psychic tears through Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, and Machamp, while Surf from Lapras wipes Onix.
- Agatha (Ghost/Poison): Agatha's Gengar rely on Poison typing, leaving them vulnerable to Alakazam’s Psychic. For the bulkier sets, pivot to Snorlax: its Normal typing renders it immune to Ghost STAB moves, and its high physical Attack powers through her lineup with Earthquake and Shadow Ball.
- Lance (Dragon): Lapras takes complete control. Resisting Water attacks from Gyarados and ice moves from opposing dragons, Lapras hits Dragonair and Dragonite with STAB Ice Beam for immediate 4x super-effective knockouts. Jolteon handles Gyarados and Aerodactyl with guaranteed outspeeds.
During the Kanto Champion battle, your rival leads with Pidgeot. Jolteon secures an immediate knockout with Thunderbolt, setting an aggressive pace. Rhydon crumbles to a single Surf from Lapras or Giga Drain from Venusaur. Alakazam obliterates Alakazam and Arcanine using Calm Mind-boosted Psychic. If your rival sends out Charizard, Lapras and Nidoking step forward with Rock Slide and Surf, shutting down Fire Blast attempts.
