Tested & Scratched: Hands-on Durability Review of Carl Friedrik’s Carry-On
Opening The Carry-On reveals a split 50/50 clam interior lined with high-density technical fabric. Rather than relying on simple elastic straps, Carl Friedrik equips both halves with rigid compression pads fastened by heavy-duty nylon webbing.
These compression pad straps allow you to pack garments tightly, push down, and crank out trapped air before closing the case. One side features a zipped mesh pocket for chargers and flat accessories, while the opposing side retains bulkier clothing.
Because the interior measures exactly 43 liters, packing requires discipline. The recessed trolley handle channels intrude slightly into the bottom compartment floor, creating uneven channels between garments. Pairing the shell with tailored packing cubes fixes this void, but minimalist travelers will find the footprint snug for trips lasting longer than five days.
