The Hidden Simulation Timeline: How Silas Orwen Took over the Internet
Q1: Was Silas Orwen a real person or a real whistleblower?
A1: Silas Orwen is an entirely fictional persona. The character was created by an independent transmedia storytelling collective as the protagonist of an alternate reality game exploring existential themes and digital media saturation.
Q2: Is The Hidden Simulation still active to play in 2026?
A2: The live, real-time puzzle phase concluded in November 2025. However, community archivists maintain full, playable mirrors of the web terminals, audio repositories, and deciphered text files for newcomers wanting to experience the narrative.
Q3: What makes this project distinct from traditional analog horror series?
A3: Unlike traditional YouTube analog horror that leans heavily on retro VHS aesthetics and sudden monster reveals, The Hidden Simulation utilized real-world dead-drops, complex live server architecture, real functional cryptography, and philosophical speculative fiction.
