Watch Grace Vanderwaal’s Tiktok Updates: from Edgy Transformations to Candid Life Advice
Q1: Why did Grace VanderWaal shave her head on TikTok?
VanderWaal cut and bleached her hair in late 2020 as a personal style choice and a way to shed the tightly packaged child-prodigy image established during her 2016 America's Got Talent win. She documented the process directly on social media, treating the shift as a normal part of growing up rather than an engineered publicity campaign.
Q2: Does Grace VanderWaal still play the ukulele and sing?
She continues to write music and perform, but her sonic style has grown beyond simple acoustic ukulele folk. Her recent releases lean into alternative rock, gritty indie-pop, and soul-inflected vocals that feature electric guitar, bass, and distorted arrangements.
Q3: How old is Grace VanderWaal now, and what is she working on?
Born on January 15, 2004, VanderWaal is 22 years old in 2026. Alongside independently releasing music, she has expanded into mature film projects, including Francis Ford Coppola's sci-fi epic Megalopolis, while regularly using TikTok to share unreleased demos, fashion, and unfiltered life reflections.
