Who Is Brooklyn Davey Norstedt? Meet the New Voice of Eleven in 'Stranger Things: Tales from '85'
The animated series captures an intermediate pocket of franchise history. Set squarely during the summer of 1985, the show explores smaller paranormal anomalies around Roane County that never made the main live-action broadcast. Eleven is living in Hopper's cabin, navigating newfound independence, suburban friendships, and lingering trauma from the Hawkins National Laboratory.
Working in animation required Norstedt to build chemistry inside sound booths rather than on physical sets. In interviews with Popternative, she discussed how voice director veteran Mary Elizabeth McGlynn guided the young cast through ensemble table reads over teleconference before pairing them in booth sessions. Without physical eye contact or shared blocking, Norstedt had to project Eleven’s guarded posture entirely through pitch modulation, soft-spoken hesitations, and short, clipped replies.
