Legacy gameplay relied heavily on chat code redemption, where players typed specific strings prefixed with exclamation marks directly into the server conversation box. That mechanism has been almost entirely replaced. Modern versions handle redemptions through the graphic user interface to prevent chat-log exploitation and bot spam.
To claim your rewards safely:
First, launch into a low-population server if possible. High-action zones can cause your character to be knocked out while menus are open. Next, locate the Treasure Chest icon positioned in the lower-left corner of the screen alongside your basic backpack tools. Clicking this opens the dedicated redemption prompt.
Paste your chosen code directly into the empty text field. Da Hood's verification logic is case-sensitive: typing lowercase characters for uppercase strings returns a false failure message. Once entered, hit the green Redeem button. A distinct ringing audio cue confirms the transaction, and your DHC counter updates immediately in the upper menu bar.
