Alice by Heart 2026 Production Slate: High School and Regional Run Dates and Venues
Q1: Where can audiences see Alice by Heart during the 2026 season?
A1: Confirmed stagings are running throughout 2026 across several regions, including Lake City Playhouse in Idaho (April), New Philadelphia High School in Ohio (March), and Valkyrie Theatre Company’s teen showcase in Northern California (August, September), alongside several regional theatre productions scheduled for mid-to-late 2026.
Q2: What maturity level is required for schools producing the musical?

Q3: How do amateur organizations obtain production rights?
A3: Amateur, scholastic, and professional groups must apply directly through Music Theatre International (MTI), which oversees all standard performance licensing, rehearsal tracks, and sheet music distribution for the property.
Q4: How faithful is the score to traditional musical theatre styles?
A4: The music bears the distinct signature of Duncan Sheik, leaning toward indie-folk, chamber-pop, and alternative rock rather than standard Broadway belt arrangements. It relies heavily on nuanced harmonies, acoustic guitars, cellos, and ensemble counterpoint.
